Bio

For someone who reads cookbooks in bed and loves nothing more than cooking and eating with family and friends, the food photography business couldn’t be a better fit. I cook, style and shoot the foods I love; whole, organic and natural. I have been shooting for about 10 years on a range of assignments from people for commercial advertising work to youth activity posters to my current focus on food. My home studio is in Minneapolis, where I’ve lived for the past 20 years. My specialty is macro photography, emphasizing the textures and subtleties in organic composition of natural foods. I’m after one effect from those who view my work: “Yum! I want some!” Personally I enjoy travel and just about everything outdoors except for the cold. (Being a Minnesotan that’s kind of like not enjoying breathing.) If I don’t have my nose in a natural health magazine, you’ll find me outside doing something adventurous like dog- sledding, doing an in-line skate marathon in Duluth or canoeing the Boundary Waters in northern Minnesota. I love traveling to new places and trying different foods. I am available for shooting natural food images for advertising, graphic design, publishing, and fine art. My holistic approach and low-overhead cost efficiencies are a good fit for small to mid-size companies that place an importance on the presentation of their fine, natural foods.
